Recovery at Home - Call Handlers
Post Ref: RaH-CH
£9.32 per hour

Sunderland Care and Support, as part of the Altogether Better Alliance in Sunderland, operates an integrated Health and Social Care Single Point of Contact for Recovery at Home services.

Recovery at Home provides a rapid response and support to people with health and social care needs, enabling people to remain in their own home rather than being admitted to hospital or into long term care. The service also provides support to people, when they are discharged from hospital, helping them to regain their independence and confidence.

We are seeking to expand the Single Point of Contact and therefore, are looking to recruit additional Call Handlers to the service.

As a Call Handler, you will be a key point of contact for health and social care professionals and patients.

You will collect and record information, identify people in need of an immediate response, direct callers to clinical colleagues for further assessment or to social care colleagues to find an intermediate care solution.

We are looking for suitably skilled individuals, who have experience in customer service. You should have excellent written and communication skills and good IT and typing skills.

The role will include working a rota including evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays.

This is not your standard contact centre job and we are confident that it will prove to be an excellent career choice for applicants with a passion for providing first-class customer service and who want to be at the forefront of the interface between health and social care.

We are seeking to recruit to full time (37 hours) and part time (18.5 hours) positions.

We are also seeking to recruit permanent night staff who will work 36 hours per week on a four nights on duty and four nights off rolling rota pattern.

The job is extremely rewarding and we offer:

• A starting salary of £17,971 rising to £18,672 (pro-rata)
• Night rate shift allowances for overnight position
• A pension scheme
• Generous annual leave entitlement
• Career development opportunities

Appointments will be subject to two satisfactory references and DBS clearance.

If you would like an opportunity to talk about joining our award winning company, we are holding open evenings on the following dates:

Monday 19th November from 4pm to 6pm
Washington Community Resource Centre, Crowther Industrial Estate, Ayton Road, Washington, NE38 0AB

Monday 26th November from 4.30pm to 6.30pm
