We have two vacancies - one permanent role and one fixed term. It is planned that the permanent post holder will lead our Construction / Fleet category and the fixed term role will be based within our Energy team. However, the post holders may work flexibly across the NEPO Collaborative Procurement Work Programme and may be required to work across other categories. Construction / Fleet We are seeking a Regional Category Specialist to lead the Construction and Fleet Category. Our Construction and Fleet team currently manages and procures a portfolio of complex frameworks delivering fleet, materials, professional services and works for building, civil engineering, highways and infrastructure projects. The post holder will report to the Head of Procurement. Construction and/or fleet related experience is preferable whilst not being essential. The role will leads a small team of Regional Procurement Officers and key roles will include but not be limited to: • Procuring and contract managing market leading construction related projects and supporting clients with related
  call-offs. • Working in collaboration with our partners The Procurement Partnership Ltd. • Providing high level specialist procurement advice to stakeholders within NEPO and its client organisations. • Leading working group and framework management meetings with various clients and contracted suppliers. • Marketing frameworks to potential clients and current NEPO Members in order to drive growth within the category. • Building relationships and working collaboratively both within the North East region and nationally. • Working with category specific organisations / groups including National Association of Construction Frameworks,
  Civil Engineering Contractors Association and Constructing Excellence in the North East. • Engaging with the market and contractor base to ensure knowledge and best practice is shared across the
  organisation, client and contractor base. • Reviewing, analysing and reporting on spend and performance data from NEPO led frameworks and utilising it to
  ensure continuous improvement. Energy NEPO are seeking a Regional Category Specialist to lead the activity of the Energy Category. The post holder will report to the Energy Category Manager. The NEPO Energy Category is responsible for providing expert support to Member Authorities on a broad range of energy matters, this includes the procurement and contract management of a number of energy solutions that provide value for money for customers. The solutions within the Category are of strategic importance to Member Authorities and are often, by nature of the energy industry, complex and challenging. Now is an exciting time to join the NEPO Energy Category as it works towards the conclusion and implementation of the Electricity Framework Agreement procurement and the commencement of the Gas Framework Agreement procurement. The post holder shall be responsible for the day to day management of the Energy Category, delivery of the energy procurement projects within the Collaborative Procurement Work Programme (CPWP) and wider energy related activities. The post holder will be required to build excellent working relationships with NEPO Member Authorities, NEPO Associate Members and Framework Agreement suppliers. The successful applicant shall have experience of leading strategic, collaborative procurement projects. Although not essential, it is desirable that the successful applicant has experience of the energy industry and markets.
