Established in 1976, the North East Procurement Organisation (NEPO) undertakes high-value procurement in major strategic areas of spend (such as construction, energy, and professional services) on behalf of eleven North East local authorities and a range of associate members.
1 x Regional Procurement Officer (Energy)
NEPO have a vacancy for a Regional Procurement Officer to in work in the NEPO Energy Category Team. The post holder will be responsible for procurement and contract management of energy related contracts. The post holder will also be required to undertake the trading of electricity and gas from the wholesale market in accordance with the NEPO Risk and Purchasing Strategy, offering a relatively niche opportunity in public sector procurement. The post holder will be required to develop an expert understanding of commodity markets and the factors that influence market behaviour and trends.
In addition, the post holder will provide professional procurement support and advice to NEPO and its members, through ensuring that all contracts are let and managed in accordance with the category strategy, taking account of relevant legislation and within agreed timescales. They will also be responsible for identifying improvements in arrangements including contracts and supplier relationships to make best use of resources and encourage growth. The post holder will also be expected to drive the performance of contracts and work actively with suppliers and stakeholders to drive continuous improvements, savings and additional benefits.

NEPO have a vacancy for a Regional Procurement Officer working within the Construction & Fleet Category Team, focused on Construction. The post holder will be responsible for the procurement and contract management of the construction related portfolio alongside engagement with construction clients and the market to help shape the future direction of the category. The post holder will be expected to help grow both the categories offering and usage whilst ensuring performance and delivery in this relatively new and innovative area.
In addition, the post holder will provide professional procurement support and advice to NEPO and its members, through ensuring that all contracts are let and managed in accordance with the category strategy, taking account of relevant legislation and within agreed timescales.
