We have been selected by Ford Next Generation Learning and The Edge Foundation as the first area internationally to translate elements of the very successful Academies of Nashville model to the UK.

The Academies of Nashville model transformed attendance, attainment and progression by placing employers and business partners alongside teachers and school leaders to develop highly personalised approaches to progression.

We are seeking to recruit a regional project lead to support the delivery of the North East LEP’s Education Challenge: Next Generation Learning Pilot.

The Regional Project Lead will be based at the North East LEP and work strategically to source and engage employers who wish to host teacher placements in industry and develop project based learning approaches with schools, colleges and universities. They will work with curriculum leaders in schools, colleges and universities to identify opportunities within schemes of work where employers can add value and will develop resources that can be used by schools. They will collate and share best practice across the region and support the strategic implementation of both the North East Strategic Economic Plan and the NECOP Regional Strategy. They will also coordinate and support the industry alignment managers in three schools – working directly with them one day per week.
