The Registration and Nationality Service provides a high quality, customer focused service delivering a range of functions around major life events, including:
• Registration of births, deaths, marriages and civil partnerships
• Nationality Checking Service, Settlement Checking Service and Citizenship.

We are recruiting a Registration Services Assistant to provide reception and admin support to this busy department. You will be expected to carry out a full range of reception duties including:
• Dealing with visitors to the Register Office and handling their bookings and appointments through the use of IT systems
• Dealing with internal and external council customers and other visitors to the Civic Centre
• Signposting customers to council services and providing directions and access to locations within the Civic Centre.

In addition you will be required to carry out a range of clerical, financial and numeric administrative tasks to support the work carried out by the Register Office. You will be IT literate and have experience in customer facing roles, handling difficult situations and in a range of administrative duties.

The working pattern covers a period of two weeks with 37 hours being worked over each two week period. Week 1: Thursday and Friday, Week 2: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
