If you think you can, then Sunderland Care and Support is seeking to appoint people who wish to work with in Adult Social Care providing high standards of care and support.

We are seeking to recruit Relief Support Workers to work in our Supported Living and Short Break Division to support people with Learning Disabilities, Autism , Mental Health needs and complex physical and health needs and in our Recovery at Home and Telecare services, which support vulnerable people aged over 18 years old to live independently in their own homes.

Sunderland Care and Support is a Sunderland City Council owned trading company supporting vulnerable people across the city of Sunderland.

Our Relief Staff Bank allows people to work with us on an ‘ad hoc’ basis.

Relief Support Workers, are not guaranteed hours but will be offered work within the company on a regular basis to help meet service needs. They can then choose which shifts they wish to pick up and cover. Relief Support Workers will be expected to undertake our Induction training programme.

Relief Support Workers must be able to work flexibly on a rota, including working on a weekend, bank holidays and doing a ‘Sleep In’ duty as required.

In terms of career opportunities our Relief Staff Bank, gives workers a chance to gain experience of working with a wide range of vulnerable people within an Adult Social Care Setting. Also, working in our Relief Staff Bank can often lead to lines of work which are longer term contracts meaning when a permanent opportunity opens up, bank staff are perfectly placed to fill the role.

You will need to:
