We are committed to providing quality care and achieving positive outcomes for the young people we look after. We are currently increasing our establishment of children’s homes within Newcastle and are looking for experienced, highly motivated RCOs to join our team to cover RCO roles within our children’s homes across the City. The successful applicants will need to be resourceful, with the ability to establish relationships quickly whilst working as part of a team towards agreed aims and objectives.

You will have good communication and IT skills and a clear understanding of needs of children and their families. You will have experience in working with vulnerable children and young people, who at times display challenging behaviours. Experience of residential care and a recognised social work qualification or NVQ level 3 is desirable. The successful applicants will be required to follow a rota, pro rota weekend work with shift patterns and sleep-ins as required.

We are committed to protecting and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect all staff to share this commitment. This post is working in regulated activity. If you are successful we will undertake additional recruitment checks which will include a check to see if you have had any criminal convictions, a check of police information and we will check the barred list(s). It is a criminal offence for a barred individual to apply for a job in regulated activity.
