The Children’s Homes National Minimum Standards states: “All care staff are at least 18 years old, and staff who are given sole responsibility for children or a management role are at least 22 years old. Within this requirement no person works in a children’s home unless they are at least four years older than the oldest child accommodated.” (Standard 17.11)

The Service

NCC operates 5 children’s homes including a national secure children home with education. Overall the service employees 130 care staff and 30 support services staff across the 5 sites. Our Homes accommodate 25 young people aged 6 - 17, our main aim is to offer an exceptional family focused caring environment where children and young people can feel safe and excelled in their abilities and futures.

The service is regularly inspected by Ofsted, currently our homes are rated as Outstanding or Good with outstanding leadership and management. It is crucial that everyone in our team is committed to the best safe care of our young people.

The Role

All roles require you to work to a shift pattern that may include sleep ins and night shifts.
You must have a good general education and be willing and able to undertake relevant training up to NVQ Level 2/3 Care Awards.

You will work under the direction of the team leader or shift coordinator to ensure the effective care of each young person.

We are offering:
Residential Support Worker salary £18,870 - 20,541.
