We are seeking to recruit suitable people to work within the resource centre. The resource team work directly with young people, children with Disabilities and their families.
This will include working in the Centre, and also working to support children in the community ,in other settings, and working in children's own homes which promote change and development and meet physical, emotional, intellectual, behavioral, health, social and cultural needs. This may include working with children with challenging behaviour, moderate to severe disability, and complex health needs.
We are committed to Restorative Practice when working with young people and their families.
The successful candidates will provide a high quality of care and support, which meets the physical, emotional, intellectual, behavioral, health, social and cultural needs of the children and families for whom the centre provides a service. This will include working with young people with very challenging behaviour, complex emotional problems, mental health disorders and other additional/special needs.
Applicants must:
A recognised NVQ 3 or QCF diploma in working with children and young people or equivalent
Have HSC 375 medication or equivalent or be willing to work towards this
Experience of working with children and young people
An understanding of child development and challenging behaviour
A positive attitude and the ability to work with young people
You will also be required to work unsocial hours which include week-ends, bank holidays, nights and sleep ins.
