This post is a key function within the Community Learning Service. To assess, refer and provide mentoring/support to Routes to Work participants in order to assist them in overcoming barriers to work. Participants are deemed ‘hard to help’ due to factors such as long term unemployment, mental health issues, disabilities, complex/multiple barriers e.g. ex-offenders, substance misuse, etc.
The successful applicant will be able to:
• Deliver timely and effective Information, Advice and Guidance to participants.
• Identify barriers participants have to work and provide individual and mentoring support to help participants overcome these barriers
• Carry out skills needs assessments to identify transferable skills and develop realistic targets relevant to moving participants closer to employment.
• Monitor and review the progress of participants regularly, liaising with employers/placements and other parties setting SMART targets
• To take responsibility for effective caseload management and tracking of participants
