Durham County Council - Children and Adults Services -SEND & Inclusion Service

SEND Engagement Worker - Temporary until 31st March 2018.
Broom Cottages, Ferryhill

We are looking to appoint a Special Educational Needs & Disability (SEND) Engagement Officer to work closely with key stakeholders to implement the strategy to maximise engagement of parents/carers and children/young people in the development of services, provision and strategies for children and young people with special educational needs and disability.

The post is full time, however this could be open to negotiation and flexibility with regards to hours/term time/term time (plus specified days/weeks). Please contact the Lead Officer Teri Corsan Bland on 03000 267800 to discuss.

The Postholder will have a key role in supporting Durham’s Parent Carer Forum to represent the needs of children and young people with SEND and their families whose needs are met through the EHCP and the SEND Support systems. The role will involve working with our partners on a strategy for co-production that informs strategic and operational practice, which is to include a Parent/Carer Charter. The postholder will also facilitate engagement with children and young people with SEND and their parents/carers in an annual review of the Local Offer.

Required Qualifications: Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline
