The successful candidate for the above post will oversee the Education, Health and Care (EHC) needs assessment, planning and review processes for children and young people from 0 to 25 and their parents/carers. Previous experience of working with families, of multi-agency working and of leading multi-agency meetings will be essential. Experience of working with children and young people with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and their families would be desirable, as would a good working knowledge of current SEND-related legislation and the SEND Code of Practice. A key task will be to ensure that for every child and young person, the EHC needs assessment and planning process runs efficiently and statutory deadlines are met.

The post-holder will need to be able to work under pressure in a busy office environment, to meet deadlines and to identify priorities when faced with competing demands. Excellent verbal and written communication skills will be essential, as will the ability to build and maintain strong and positive working relationships with families, schools and a range of other professionals.
