First Class Supply are working in partnership with a North Tyneside school which supports SEND pupils of all ages. The school requires SEND Teaching Assistants to work with pupils aged 4 21, with profound and multiple learning difficulties.
Roles are available for a range of full and part time hours, meaning we are able to provide you with a position that suits your lifestyle. Longer term positions are also available to work with pupils on a 1:1 or group basis. Such positions often lead to permanent contracts being offered to suitable candidates.
The school is dedicated to young people with severe learning difficulties and profound and multiple learning difficulties, they meet the needs of a range of young people in a variety of different ways including a sensory support service. Some of the aims of the school are to develop lifelong learning, widen aspirations, empower families, maximise independence, nurture values of respect and friendship and extend creativity.
To be successful in the role you must:
have experience of working with young people with a range of special educational needs
be committed to making a real difference to the lives of pupils
be able to work independently, using your initiative
be able to take direction to adapt and meet the needs of the team
have a minimum of 6 months recent experience in a UK school or education setting.
