Middlesbrough Department of Adult Social Care requires an experienced Safeguarding Adults Social Worker to work as part of a newly established Safeguarding Adults Team ensuring that multi-agency safeguarding systems and standards are implemented across the borough.
Applicants must have the following experience:
• Ensuring the smooth running and operation of the Safeguarding Adults Conference system and working with relevant social care locality teams
• Chairing and taking responsibility for Safeguarding Adults meetings and the review of Safeguarding plans, ensuring plans are in keeping with making safeguarding personal, the forthcoming care act legislation and relevant policies and procedures
• Developing expertise under the requirement of the duty to make enquiries, where required lead on complex enquiries and share expertise across the workforce
You must have a degree in Social Work or DipSW, CQSW or CSS. A good current understanding of key issues (such as the Care Act and Making Safeguarding Personal) as well as relevant theoretical understanding facing professionals in the field of Adult Safeguarding and experience of Safeguarding Adults policies and procedures.
