Ofsted July 2016 Northfield School is a large, 11-16 secondary specialist school and Sports College with state of the art facilities and interactive technology in a well-resourced newly refurbished building.

In July 2016, Ofsted judged the school to be Good in all categories. Northfield has a commitment to excellence and helping every child succeed.

Our recent successes include, achieving the Arts Gold Mark (Exemplary) award, School Games Gold Award, Beacon School status for Holocaust Education by the University of London and Flagship School status for the Duke of Edinburgh Award. Northfield plays a significant role in the Campus Stockton Teaching Alliance.

The Science department is an innovative and supportive department seeking to share its passion of the subject with well-motivated students. At present, the department consists of 10 fully equipped labs, preparation areas and a staff work room. We are also extremely privileged to be gaining 4 brand new, state of the art labs when the new build opens in September. These labs have been designed with Science team input and have enabled us to develop unique learning spaces that match our teaching and learning needs.

We are looking to appoint a positive, flexible, proactive and enthusiastic Technician to join our highly successful and popular Science department. The ideal candidate will share our passion for science and be a highly motivated addition to our team.

Experience of working in a laboratory or school prep room is essential, and an understating of Health and Safety requirements in a classroom or laboratory context is necessary.

Application forms and further details are available from the school website www.northfieldssc.org and should be returned to HR@northfieldssc.org by 12 noon on the closing date. Alternatively, applications are also accepted by post (FAO Catherine Frost). NB: we do not accept CV's.
