An academy school in Northumberland is looking to appoint a Teacher of English starting in March 2018. The position will be on a full time basis until the end of the academic year. You will be required to teach Key Stage 4 pupils.

The small, friendly school caters for pupils aged 13 – 18. A new leadership team has been established to implement change and progress, increasing the capacity to drive forward improvement initiatives more rapidly over the longer term. The overall aim of the school is to help pupils to develop a love of learning and the values, skills and attitudes that will be required for a purposeful life beyond school.

To be successful in this role you must:
• be an enthusiastic and committed teacher with vision, drive and commitment
• have the skills to make a significant impact on raising the quality of teaching and learning
• be proficient in planning, assessment and target setting so that all children make good or better progress
• be able to inspire and motivate
• be committed to raising achievement and standards
• hold a relevant teaching qualification and QTS
• have recent experience / knowledge of teaching English to Key Stage 4 within the UK National Curriculum.
