”The Council is looking to appoint two Senior Building Control Surveyors to join a small client focussed Building Control Team. The successful candidate will deal with a full range of building control applications and related matters contributing to the delivery of a high quality, client focussed building control service. You will be responsible for the preparation of reports and records of inspections incorporating decisions made on site under delegated authority with regard to compliance with current and associated legislation. You will be responsible for the examination of plans and details submitted under the Building Regulations, checking for compliance with the requirements of those Regulations and associated legislation. You will carry out regular site inspections in respect of works in progress to ensure that the works accord with the approved plans and are in conformity with the requirements of the Building Regulations.

In addition, the post holder will support the management team by exercising professional and managerial responsibilities where required and assist in the professional development of junior staff through mentoring as they undergo training to become fully qualified surveyors.

The successful candidate will be RICS or CABE qualified and be able to demonstrate substantial experience at a senior level. Self-motivated you should be able to work with limited supervision and respond to service and client needs.

The post holder is required to hold a full UK driving licence and access to a motor vehicle.
