Senior Environmental Enforcement Officer, Grade 7 (£29,055 - £32,233) This role is to be introduced to provide the day to day supervision of the enforcement team and to carry out and, when necessary, lead on investigations into relevant environmental crimes and deliver formal actions in accordance with the Council's Environmental Enforcement Policy. You will liaise with members of the public and proprietors of businesses to give advice and guidance on relevant matters, seeking to ensure compliance with relevant environmental legislation. You should have a detailed knowledge of the Clean Neighbourhoods & Environment Act 2005 and also the Environmental Protection Act 1990 and other relevant environmental legislation. You will also be required to conduct interviews in accordance with the Codes of Practice issued under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 ("PACE") upon appointment, or be capable of achieving this requirement very soon after appointment. You should have good communication, customer care and computing skills. You should be able to manage both your own workload and that of your team. You must have a current full UK driving licence and have a flexible approach to work as you may be required to work out of normal hours including weekends.
