The Youth Employment Initiative (YEI) is an £29m EU funded programme to help unemployed 16-24 year olds improve their skills and move into employment, training or education. DurhamWorks is the approved project for YEI in County Durham, with Durham County Council as the applicant.

This post, working in the Funding and Programmes Team in Regeneration and Local Services, will ensure that the County Council as applicant to this Programme maintains efficient and effective management of the project by providing advice, guidance and support to the Adult Learning and Skills Service, the project sponsor, particularly in relation to European funding requirements.

This post is funded through YEI/ESF and is fixed term until 31 July 2021.

Required qualifications and experience:-

Association of Accounting Technicians or other relevant financial qualification at level 4 or above (or equivalent)
Substantial experience of financial administration systems;
Experience of establishing/maintaining monitoring and record-keeping systems; Experience of preparing European grant claims, or claims for similar grant-funding regimes.
