County Durham Housing Group are seeking to appoint a Senior HR & OD Business Partner on a permanent basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to take an active role in the delivery of a proactive and customer focused HR operational service across County Durham Housing Group. You will be required to understand and translate business requirements into effective HR & OD practice, delivering people solutions to achieve business objectives, manage risk and drive performance. Acting as a change agent you will be responsible for helping to build capability and to develop and maintain strong working relationships across the group as well as implementing operational people projects within specific timescales.

You will be accountable for the day to day performance of the HR Operational Services Team, providing effective support, guidance and advice across the team and have experience of successfully managing a team within a business partner model.

You should be CIPD qualified or have an equivalent of 5 years experience of delivering in a business partner role as well as experience of driving change and coaching line managers. You should be able to demonstrate professional credibility; work on your own initiative and be both flexible and adaptable to weave with the changing nature of the business.

Key duties and responsibilities of the role

1. Proactively business partner with managers to drive up standards of performance across the group.

2. To act as senior point of contact and subject matter expert in relation to complex cases, projects, policy queries and HR and OD related advice across the generalist range of the role.

3. Proactively lead, manage and successfully deliver complex cross functional projects across the group within specific timeframes including identifying and managing risk.

4. Assist in leading the review, development and successful implementation of group wide policies and processes to drive a continuous engagement and performance culture across the organization.

5. Assist in the implementation of continuous improvement processes to ensure that all HR and OD operational systems and processes are fit for purpose.

6. Provide expert HR and OD input and advice on a range of issues to implement customer focused solutions to meet the needs of the business.

7. Support the change management process across the group, in partnership with HR and OD colleagues, senior managers and local management teams, including restructuring, redundancy consultation, variation of contracts and TUPE transfers.

8. Develop and maintain credible relationships across a broad range of stakeholders, including managers, employees and trade unions.

9. Partner and coach service managers to support the delivery of the people strategy and encourage a culture of line manager responsibility and accountability for front line human resources management.

10. To be responsible for own professional and personal development, keeping up to date with current practice and employment legislation.

11. To write and present formal reports up to and including Group Executive level as required in relation to specialist and generalist subject areas.

12. To develop, create and deliver training materials, presentations and workshops as required in relation to specialist and generalist subject areas.
