The Council is seeking to recruit a senior planning officer to support the delivery of its Development Management service. You will form part of a team with responsibility for dealing with the full range of planning applications, the discharge of planning conditions, monitoring of sites under construction and planning enforcement. Supported by the Development Services Manager you will have responsibility for your own caseload of planning applications and planning enquiries and have the ability to deal with this caseload within service time limits.
You must have a good knowledge of current legislation, regulations, policies, procedures and case law relating to development management and planning. You should have experience in planning, in particular within Development Management, be able to communicate effectively and be able to understand plans. It’s essential that you’re computer literate with the ability to adapt various software packages. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated candidate who is able to work as an individual but also as part of a team delivering a responsive development management service to business and the community.
You are required to have a full driving licence and the ability to conduct site visits.
