An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Property Surveyor to join the busy Property Team at Gateshead Council.
The Council has embarked on a policy of housing and economic growth and is seeking a suitably qualified surveyor to support Council services. The team has a client focused culture and encourages a partnership approach to property.
The team undertakes the full range of real estate management in house and you will assist with all aspects of property disposals, development projects, acquisitions and valuation work.
The main areas of work include; disposal of a portfolio of surplus assets for housing and commercial redevelopment; acquisitions to support development proposals; valuation work including viability assessments; and other land issues.
You will be required to demonstrate the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team as well as able to work on your initiative.
It is essential you have knowledge of relevant legislation/technical aspects, especially with regard to land development, sales, purchases, valuations and property management.
You will possess experience of property acquisition and disposals and/or property management.
You will be able to work to deadlines and deal with varying workloads.
You will be qualified to degree level and possess the RICS qualification or be working towards this. You will have post qualification experience and possess an understanding of commercial property matters and agency, local authority procedures and good presentation and negotiating skills. Knowledge of ICT is also an essential requirement of the post.
You should have a current driving licence or means to mobility support.
