Service Manager – Adults and Integrated Care x 2 (Salary up to £65,000)

Serving a population of almost 150,000 in the heart of the North East, South Tyneside Council prides itself on providing excellent and efficient services to its most vulnerable residents.

Adult Social Care is changing in South Tyneside. This is a great time to join us. We are a forward thinking Council that continues to develop innovative approaches to meet our challenges and we are designing new ways of working that are centred around our most vulnerable residents. Following the appointment of a new Head of Adults and Integrated Care in 2016, we are now looking for two Senior Officers to continue to take the Council forward on its journey, driving the implementation of our new operating model. The posts will lead operational management; one for integrated community teams and hospitals and one for learning disability, mental health and safeguarding, enabling residents to access the right support, at the right time, with a focus on prevention and self-help.

We are looking for the right leaders to work with our senior team. If you are an inspirational and robust leader, able to motivate staff, with a background of effective operational management, multi-disciplinary and partnership working we look forward to hearing from you.

Our service managers must be able to lead and manage a specific portfolio, effecting significant changes in the way we support the needs of our residents, all within the financial constraints that all local authorities are now facing.

You will need a deep understanding of excellent social care support, and the rigour and management grip to ensure good performance. You will be a skilled relationship builder, working closely with Members, staff, partners and communities to ensure that everyone is engaged and part of solutions to challenges that lie ahead.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our journey and take on a career defining role within a change-focused organisation, determined to build a better life for South Tyneside residents.

For an informal discussion please contact Vicki Pattinson, Head of Adults and Integrated Care on 0191 424 7055.

South Tyneside Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) disclosure will be sought along with other relevant pre-employment checks.
