Durham County Council's Adult Learning Service are looking to recruit casual tutors to contribute to the Service by delivering high quality learning and skills programmes in a variety of Community venues across County Durham. We are seeking applications from qualified adult learning tutors who have experience of delivering programmes in one or more of the following subjects:

- Functional Maths and English
- Family/Intergenerational Learning
- ICT
- Business Administration
- Employability
- Supporting Teaching & Learning in Schools
- ESOL

We are also looking for tutors with SEN experience.

Casual tutors will primarily be responsible for:

- To design and deliver learning programmes in the appropriate subject area and support learners to achieve their learning aims within agreed timescales
- To use teaching and learning strategies that take into account individual learning needs
- To assess learners progress and to maintain records, attendance, attainment and progression
- To ensure the health and safety of learners attending courses ensuring the safe and proper use of training equipment and materieals
- To organise and plan assessment opportunities with learners
- To comply with awarding body requirements in all assessment processes

Essential qualifications: A full teaching qualification (DTLLS, Certificate in Education, PGCE or equivalent). Minimum Level 3 qualification in the related area of teaching (Maths and English require a minimum Level 4 / Level 5 Subject specification.)
