This post sits within the Rapid Response team. The CCiN team will provide a proactive Social Work service to children assessed as being children in need and considered to be at risk of suffering significant impairment with the RRT providing a support role to such situations which require greater intensity of support outside of normal working hours (Mon - Friday up till 10pm and 11 - 7pm Sat / Sun on a rota basis) . Both teams will be made up of experienced Social Workers who are highly skilled in family interventions.

The RRT will be multi-disciplinary in nature made up of practitioners who have complementary skills and experience developed through working with families and children with complex needs. Both teams will take a systemic approach and focus on effecting sustained change that reduces the need for recourse to the looked after and/or Child Protection system. The core function of both teams will be to keep families together or reunite them quickly whilst ensuring an evidence based approach to managing risk and uncertainty. Caseloads will be capped to ensure that you are enabled to work intensively with families and children. Supervision will be highly reflective with training in systemic practice a core offer towards your professional development.

Both teams will be staffed by practitioners who firmly believe in the power of strength based relational Social Work and have the ability to address behaviours linked to, or because of, adult and childhood trauma and compromised child/parental relationships and capacity.

We are looking to appoint an experienced Social Workers in the RRT Team, which means you must as a minimum have completed your ASYE year. You will have significant experience of practicing statutory child care Social Work in a multi-disciplinary way. You must have demonstrable skills in planning and delivering interventions with complex and challenging families coupled with the ability to analyse and evaluate complex situations and risk.

Your knowledge base will demonstrate expert understanding of Social Work legislation and statutory guidance, assessment and Social Work methodologies, including an awareness of systemic approaches. You will be empathic, enabling and resilient with a 'can do', solution focussed approach. You will be comfortable in reaching sound evidence based decisions and able to exercise your professional authority appropriately. You will be a team player with a proven ability to work constructively with other professional groups.

If successful you will need to apply for an Enhanced DBS check.
