We are currently looking for either experienced Social Workers with post qualification experience within a social work role, or Social Workers who have successfully completed the ASYE Programme. We would welcome applications on either a full time or part time basis. The team covers the beautiful and rural North of Northumberland and is based in Berwick Upon Tweed town centre. The role includes the completion of children and family assessments and supports children and families on Child in Need and Child Protection plans, children who are looked after and those in pre or actual care proceedings and within private law. 

The team consists of Social Work Support Assistants, Social Workers, Social Work Advanced Practitioners and two Team Managers. Support to Social Work staff is provided by an admin team based in the same office. The team are very supportive and there is a strong emphasis on staff support, informal and formal supervisions, appraisals, professional and personal development, training, excellent team support and relationships with multi agency partners. 

Northumberland have adopted the Signs of Safety practice model and there are opportunities for training and support around Signs of Safety. 

The team has a strong commitment to work-life balance and offers flexibility through options such as home working, flexible working and compressed hours.
