We are looking for an enthusiastic, positive person to join the looked after children unit as a Social Worker – Family Finder.

Redcar and Cleveland’s Permanency team, as part of the looked after children unit aims to provide a quality service to looked after children and to achieve the best possible outcomes for those children, their families and carers. If you have real drive and ambition and are professionally qualified with substantial post qualifying experience and feel that you have the skills then we would like to hear from you.

The Permanency Team are looking for a suitably experienced candidate to take on the role of Family Finder. The successful candidate will be working closely within a multidisciplinary framework to support children whose plan is adoption to find suitable forever families within agreed timescales either within or outside of the Borough. Your main priority will be to progress and implement the plans for adoption by searching and identifying suitable families from the approved adopters available. You will have a tenacious approach to the task being able to work closely with Adoption Agencies and other Local Authorities.

The successful candidate will be highly motivated and have high personal standards of self-discipline, be able to demonstrate a flexible and organised approach to their work and be able to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders and professionals. They will have proven experience of successful Family Finding or Adoption work and the supporting Adoption regulations.
