Further Information
The Children with Disabilities Team is a specialist social work team working with disabled children, young people and their families. The work of the team covers the full range of statutory duties in the delivery of the service, undertaking Child in Need assessments and developing support plans for disabled children. You will also work with a small number of children where there are safeguarding concerns or who are Looked After.

We are seeking to appoint enthusiastic social workers who have an established skill base and practice experience in children's services, with knowledge around disability and a commitment to partnership working.

You will join a group of highly effective and motivated staff to work in partnership with disabled children, their parents and external agencies to provide an effective service to minimise the effect of a child's disability.

Applications are invited from qualified social workers. It is essential that you have a relevant social work qualification or equivalent (social work degree, CQSW, Dip SW or CSS) and be registered with the HCPC.

We recognise the importance of valuing our staff by supporting Social Workers through manageable caseloads, reflective supervision, and accessibility to senior managers.

As an employee you would receive a generous annual leave package (increasing after 5 years), be a member of the Tyne & Wear Pensions Fund and be eligible to access a range of employee benefits such as the flexi time scheme as well as a variety of staff offers and discounts.

It is essential that you have a current driving licence and access to a car or access to mobility support.

If successful you will have to apply for an Enhanced Disclosure.
