Job Title: Social Worker, Families First
Salary: Grade 9 pre-progression, Grade 11 post-progressions (salary on appointment is determined by length of service and level of experience)
Location: Posts are available in the Families First teams based in Consett, Durham Central, Seaham, Chilton, and Spennymoor

Our Families First Teams meet need across the continuum from early help to safeguarding and looked after services, ensuring high quality provision to children and families in need. The following principles guide their work:
• Ensuring the Child’s journey and their voice remains central.
• Providing help at the earliest opportunity which supports and promotes community resilience through the provision of locally delivered services in local communities which make sense to families and partners.
• Delivering evidence based interventions with a focus on safe escalation and de-escalation of cases supporting staff to be able to safely and confidently manage risk whilst maintaining the confidence of families and partners.

We are seeking social workers with at least at least 1 year of post qualification experience (ASYE) to work with our most vulnerable children, young people and families, whose expertise will support families, help keep children safe and enable them both to thrive. Required qualifications: Degree in social work or equivalent social work qualification, e.g. Post Graduate Diploma in Social Work (PDDipSW) Certificate of Qualification in Social Work (CQSW), Diploma in Social Work (DipSW), Certificate in Social Services (CSS) & current HCPC Registration
