Short Description:

Children’s Services are seeking experienced Social Workers to join our innovative Families First Teams. There are vacancies at various locations countywide.

Our Families First teams are multi skilled, social work led, integrated teams working with children, young people and families who are in need of support and protection. The teams work with children, young people and families until they are ready to deescalate into early help services, or until they escalate to Public Law Outline (PLO) or care proceedings.

Social Workers in the teams are responsible for a caseload of families who require statutory social work intervention, under the direction and support of the team manager and social work consultant (a non-caseholding senior worker who provides reflective supervision). They:

• Carry out proportionate, single whole family assessments, assess risk, plan and deliver interventions, monitor and review outcomes to enable these families to make significant and sustainable changes that will impact positively upon themselves and their children
• Carry out child protection enquiries in accordance with their experience
• Use their social work knowledge and skills, to work intensively with children, young people and adults within the family. They undertake direct work with children and their families in order to create sustained changed for families and improve outcomes
• Provide advice, guidance and mentoring to other team members about their area of professional expertise

These opportunities will be attractive to social workers who want to:

• Are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children, young people and families
