Salary- £28,485 - £37,306 per annum (Depending on experience and progression rules apply), plus an essential car user allowance of £1,239 per annum. A relocation package is available.

Next Steps, Together for Children is a team who work with children and young people who are in care and or who are Care Leavers and entitled to support under the Leaving Care Act 2000. The team comprises of 9 Social Workers and 11 Personal advisors. 1 Re engagement worker and 1 Staying Put Advisor and 3 Business Support Workers. The team is split into two teams each team comprising of a Team Manager and Assistant Team Manager. Each team has a range of newly qualified Social Workers to Senior Social Workers and we also support students and ASYEs.

Social Workers in the teams work with Young people from age 15 to 18 undertaking all statutory functions related to Care Leavers in conjunction with the Children Act 1989 and the Leaving Care Act 2000. Personal Advisors become involved with the Young People from 17 ½ and co work until the young person turns 18 and it is deemed appropriate to achieve a full hand over. Personal Advisors will work with young people up until the age of 25 where there is an identified need or if the young person is in higher education.

The team operates a duty system with a duty rota in place to ensure that at any given time there is a Social Worker and Person Advisor on duty.

The team is based in the City Centre with easy access to the office for young people.
