This is an exciting opportunity to join our established Pre-birth team and we are looking to recruit a suitably experienced and skilled Social Worker who has the passion and drive to ensure that children, young people, and their families in Sunderland achieve the best outcomes and receive high quality services. You will have an established track record in safeguarding and multi-agency working whilst also having knowledge and understanding of legislation which underpins social work and pre-birth practice.

The team's purpose is to carry out robust pre-birth and post birth assessments, our work consists of supporting unborn babies, babies and their families who are identified as Child in Need under s17 of the Children Act 1989 and Child Protection under s47of the Children Act 1989 and Cared for Children under s20, s31 and s38 of the Children Act 1989.There is a well-established Pre-birth model of working which involves a clear intervention and support plan to inform assessment work. You will be required to implement SMART care plans, complete reports for Child Protection Conferences, Cared for Child reviews and court directed assessments.
