The Preventative Mental Health Team have an exciting opportunity for a Social Worker to join their dynamic and dedicated team.

Mental Health Service provision in Hartlepool has changed to include support to all ages (18+), and to further evolve preventative work in this area. An opportunity will also be given to an experienced Social Worker to develop and take on an Approved Mental Health Professional role following the completion of the relevant training.


You should have recent relevant experience of working in a Social Care Management setting dealing with enquiries from the public or agencies. A sound knowledge base and understanding of roles and responsibilities within Social Care is essential, ideally including knowledge of current developments and service pathways.

Under the umbrella of Safeguarding you will undertake social care assessments and support planning; monitor and review packages of support. You will need good administrative skills and a proven experience of developing, maintaining and inputting information on electronic based systems.

You will be able to demonstrate sound analytical skills and affective decision-making within appropriate timescales; demonstrate a person-centered approach and be able to act in a tactful and sensitive manner with people who access services.

The successful applicant will receive regular supervision and an Annual Review, be well supported and have opportunities in respect of their career development, including experiencing a variety of roles within adult social care.
