The Ascent Academies’ Trust is a partnership of five special academies in the North East, which provides and develops special needs provision across the region.
Post: Speech and Language Therapist
Salary: PT30 – PT47 (Band 6/7 equivalent)
Actual salary £23,123 - £36,180 pa
Hours: 37 hours per week, Term time only (39 weeks)
3 days at Hope Wood Academy, 2 days at Ash Trees Academy
Location: Hope Wood Academy and Ash Trees Academy

The Trust is committed to providing excellent speech, language and social communication skills to students. The post holder will develop the provision of speech & language therapy within the academies, working closely with staff, parents and a range of external professionals. The post holder will manage the communication needs of the whole academy along with an appropriate clinical caseload in each of the academies. The post holder will work with a communication assistant in each academy in order to support and deliver intervention.

We are seeking to appoint an individual with;
• Substantial experience of working within the field of Special Educational Needs (3-5 year)
• Experience of communication models
• Ability to deliver training and coaching to staff
• Ability to work on own initiative and form networks with other professionals
• HPC and RLSLT registration

There will be access to external clinical supervision on a 1:1 basis along with access to peer supervision groups within the North East. There will be access to support from SALT colleagues with the Trust as appropriate.
