1 Year Fixed Term Contract - with potential to extend

The Governing Body of St. Helen’s Primary School are seeking candidates of an extremely high calibre to work within a setting dedicated to supporting pupils and achieving outstanding outcomes. We wish to appoint a Sports Coach who will work across whole school planning and delivering P.E. and sport sessions to children within Foundation Stage to children in year 6 along with delivering sports clubs on a lunchtime and after school.

St. Helen’s Primary School has 322 pupils inclusive of a 26 place Nursery and a 16 place 2 Year Old provision. We have above average FSM and deprivation. The vision for St. Helen’s Primary School is to ‘enable all pupils (no matter what their background or starting point) to achieve their full potential and promote the school as a ‘beacon’ of the community, where aspirations are achieved and dreams are a reality for all pupils, staff and families’.

We expect the successful candidate to:

Be able to plan and teach a range of P.E lessons catering for the different age range within a primary school.
Have high expectations of learning and behaviour and inspire and motivate our children;
Be a role model to teachers, up-skilling them in the teaching of P.E.
Seek to make physical education exciting and a positive experience. Communicate well with parents, carers and members of staff, as well as pupils.
Demonstrate good communication skills both orally and written.
Work well as part of a team;
Work to enhance good sporting links and opportunities across schools within the cluster and sporting clubs
Be willing to lead a variety of lunchtime/after school sports clubs.
Be able to motivate pupils into physical activity and a healthy lifestyle incorporating our newly created ‘Healthy Hub’ classroom
Identify and nurture sporting talent
