The Governing Body are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified Sports Lead to work across the school supporting the development of sport and PE. Sunnyside Academy is a large primary school with 320 mainstream children and also SEN Support Bases for pupils with a Hearing Impairment, pupils with a visual impairment and pupils with Moderate Learning Difficulties.

The role will include working with a range of groups, and whole classes, developing children’s skills, knowledge and positive attitudes through a range of sports and physical education opportunities.

Additionally, the role will include the provision and management of lunch and after-school extended sports activities. The school has extensive playing fields and playgrounds.

The school is committed to the philosophy of creating a genuine inclusive learning environment. However, no previous experience of special educational needs is required for this post. This is a fabulous opportunity to work as a Sports Lead in a unique community.
