Newcastle City Council is looking to appoint two student planners on a one-year fixed term contract to support the delivery of an effective and efficient planning service. The post-holders will have the opportunity to gain experience in a busy planning section covering work in both development management and planning policy.
This is a very exciting time for the City in terms of development activity following the adoption of its Core Strategy and Urban Core Plan in 2015 and working towards the adoption of the City’s Development and Allocations Plan in 2019.
We are therefore looking for enthusiastic candidates who are working towards a degree or post-graduate qualification relevant to urban planning and who can demonstrate an understanding of planning legislation, good communication skills, can demonstrate an ability to identify solutions to solve problems, experience in collaborative working and the ability to work flexibly to timescales.
