TACT are seeking a full time, office based Supervising Social Worker / Senior Supervising Social Worker for our North East office. The overall purpose of this role is to recruit, assess, train and support a diverse range of foster carers and placements. Supervising Social Worker / Senior Supervising Social Worker Full Time - Permanent Office based - North East TACT, the UK’s largest fostering and adoption charity, is bringing its vision and ethos to the North East. Formed in 1993, we now have over 500 dedicated carers, who look after over 600 children and young people across the country. Our reputation and growth rests upon our strength in providing successful placements. As a charity, we do not have shareholders who receive profits and we invest all of our surplus income into service, staff, carers, and children's development. Building upon our reputation for delivering excellent outcomes for children, we recently opened an office in the Gateshead area and this is an exciting opportunity to be part the expansion of a national non-profit making organisation at a local level. Initially, the post will focus on the recruitment of foster carers, and working in partnership with local authorities. It will also include the assessment and supervision of foster carers, along with the matching of children’s needs to their assessed skills, qualities and abilities. We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic, highly-motivated individual with experience working with foster carers in a children and families setting. The social worker, alongside the Area Manager, will be the face of TACT for prospective carers and local authorities in the North East. They will need to share and promote our unshakeable commitment to the cause of looked after children and young people, and to the work we do to resolve trauma, build confidence, and improve their long term life chances. We are interested in individuals for whom quality of service is paramount and in those who share our commitment to working in partnership with children and their foster carers in the development of the agency. If you would like to be part of this exciting expansion and have the relevant skills and experience in fostering, we would like to hear from you. You will be expected, with guidance from the Area Manager, to develop services throughout the North East but particularly in the areas of Newcastle, Durham, Sunderland, Gateshead and the Tees Valley. You will need to be DipSW, CSS or CQSW qualified and registered with the HCPC. An enhanced disclosure is also required and is requested for you by TACT. You will be required to be on an out of hours’ rota and you will be paid an out of hours’ allowance of £1,500 per annum once participating in the rota.
