The College currently administers its own supply pool of staff for assignments on a casual basis and is available for individuals who wish to undertake assessing, lecturing, learner support or administration work. Opportunities occur across the entire College in curriculum and in the various administrative centres within the College together with Adult Learning courses at various venues within the local community. Assignments can be as little as a couple hours a week up to full time working and many supply pool staff have gone on fixed term and permanent posts within the College.

The College is currently seeking to increase its pool of IQA Assessors in Business Management and Health & Social Care

Business and Management Assessors -

New College Durham University Centre are looking for individuals to join our internal moderation/verification team to support the internal quality assurance processes for our Foundation Degree Business and Management programme.
We are looking for individuals who:
• Can demonstrate subject knowledge and skills in Business and Management
• Are qualified to degree or above in a relevant subject area
• Have recent or current experience of teaching and assessing foundation degree(s).
• Are experienced of moderating and marking student work up to at least level 5
What you will be required to do:
• Work flexibly to meet the demands and timeframe of the moderation schedule. The work requirement will be at various times throughout the calendar year, with timings and deadlines agreed in advance of each term
• Sample marking decisions and conduct a moderation exercise the confirm the consistency and standard of the marking decisions are aligned to the Framework for Higher Education Qualifications (FHEQ) and the appropriate subject benchmarks
• Submit a report which provides feedback on the standard and consistency of marking decisions
• Complete and upload the report within a given timeline in line with the College Internal Quality Assurance procedure

Health and Social Care Assessor's -

• Are qualified to degree or above in a relevant subject area
• Have recent or current experience of teaching and assessing foundation degree(s).
• Are experienced of moderating and marking student work up to at least level 5
