33.5 hours per week, term time only plus 5 training days
Learning Support Assistant, to be class based as directed by the Head Teacher. Hours of work to be Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 8.30am–3.30pm, Tuesday 8.30am–4.30pm. The post is suitable for experienced Special Needs Assistants.
Required from 3 September 2018, Learning Support Assistants with an interest in working with pupils with autism and associated disorders. All our pupils have significant learning difficulties and complex needs. The range of abilities stretches from P Levels to lower National Curriculum levels.
Thomas Bewick is a successful specialist school for pupils aged between three and nineteen years with autism and pervasive developmental disorders. Ofsted reported the school as being ‘good’ in April 2016. Thomas Bewick is a Foundation Trust school and forms part of the Newcastle Special Schools Trust (known as The Compass Trust).
We are strongly committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our pupils. Successful applicants will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS disclosure and a range of other recruitment checks.
