Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council have an exciting new opportunity within the Adult Social Care service for a Support Worker within our Reablement Team. You will gain valuable work experience assisting with the provision of personal care and low level therapy support, to people within the borough of Stockton on Tees, enabling them to regain and maximise their independence.

Alongside your employment you will undertake an Adult Social Care level 2 or 3 apprenticeship qualification (dependent upon previous qualifications and experience). This apprenticeship is not just for school leavers and young people; there is no upper age limit on who can apply! It is a great opportunity to improve your skills and knowledge and gain a qualification through ‘on the job’ training. You will also be able to apply for any vacancies within the service upon completion of your qualification. A Support Worker within the Reablement Service is currently paid a Grade F (£18,672p.a. for 37hours)

The Reablement Service is based at Tithebarn House, Hardwick but you will be required to work in any area of the borough of Stockton-on-Tees, therefore a full driving licence and access to a motor vehicle is essential (car mileage payable).

We are looking for an enthusiastic, hard-working, positive individual who is self-motivated and able to work on their own initiative as well as being a team player. You will be committed to providing excellent service, have a caring nature and be willing to learn and develop. You will also be required to work any day of the week between 7am – 10pm (based on rota).

As the job involves working directly with adults, delivering personal care, it is therefore subject to an enhanced DBS check.

For detailed information on this role, please refer to the Job Description and Person Specification.

Please ensure you refer to the essential and desirable criteria detailed in the Person Specification when completing your application as they are used to select candidates for interview.

For a further informal discussion, please contact Susan Dixon, Reablement Services Manager, on 01642 528292.

Please note, there will be a requirement to meet the entry standards for the Level 2 / 3 Adult Social Care course which will be delivered by Learning & Skills.
