Gateshead Council currently teaches almost 4000 children to swim per week across its five swimming pools and we are looking to recruit enthusiastic, self-motivated and experienced swimming teachers to join our team.
You could be working at any of our centres which include Gateshead Leisure Centre, Dunston Leisure Centre, Blaydon Leisure Centre, Heworth Leisure Centre and Birtley Swimming Centre.
We have a number of positions to fill which includes hours during the daytime, evenings and weekends, some of which may be term time only.
You must hold a Level 2 in teaching swimming qualification and have experience of customer expectations within a leisure environment.
As part of the role you will be expected to plan, deliver and evaluate swimming lessons and provide regular feedback to candidates and parents of children, to help them achieve their personal goals. The roles could include delivery lessons to pre-school children, children and adults as well as school swimming lessons.
You will be expected to assist in the promotion, development and organisation of the swimming programme and have a commitment to ongoing professional development
Hourly rate GBP 9.36 - GBP 10.43 per hour + a 15% market supplement (to be reviewed annually)
