Our school was inspected by Ofsted in January 2018 and was judged to be good in all areas. Further information about the school can be found on our website.

Our governors are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Nursery class teacher to join their very successful team for one year in the first instance, but with the view to offering a permanent position for the right candidate.

You will be required to
• meet the requirements of a teacher as set out in the School Teachers Pay and Conditions Document including in the co-ordination and leading of one or more curriculum areas within school but not to be accountable for them;
• meet the Professional Standards for Teachers;
• play a full part in the life of the school community and support its ethos, values and aims.

The successful candidate must:

• have experience of creating a stimulating classroom and differentiated learning environment;
• have recent teaching experience in Early Years and be able to demonstrate effective strategies used to develop early reading, writing and maths skills.
• have a secure knowledge and understanding of the statutory framework for EYFS and EY pedagogy.

The working pattern will be:
Monday to Friday mornings only.

In return we can offer an exciting opportunity to work alongside a well-established team in warm and friendly environment.
At Seghill First School we are strongly committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment. An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) disclosure is required for this post.

Informal discussions or visits to the school prior to interview are strongly encouraged and welcomed. Please contact Mrs Elliott, office manager, to arrange a visit. Tel: 0191 237 0419.
