The Trustees are seeking to appoint a Teacher of Music for Academy 360 with effect from September 2019.
Academy 360 is a rapidly improving secondary school in Sunderland at the heart of its local community.
Academy 360 is looking to recruit a teacher of Music on either a part time or a full time basis. S/he will work collaboratively with a teacher of Drama to develop and deliver Performing Arts in the Secondary Sector of the Academy. S/he will benefit from the support of LST’s Music and Performance Director and the wider support from the expertise of Music teachers and leaders from across the trust.
LST is committed to developing the Arts across all its academies, recognising the significant role that they play in the academic and social development of all pupils. In addition to class teaching to GCSE and A level standards (where appropriate), the trust values the wider opportunities for performance that pupils enjoy and benefit from.
S/he will teach Music to all pupils in years 7 and 8 and those who chose to study to follow a GCSE route at KS4; they will also organise and deliver a range of extra-curricular music opportunities, including productions, shows, concerts and performances, where appropriate working collaboratively with the academy’s teacher of Drama.
This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher with a passion and enthusiasm for Music who has the expertise and skills to motivate and inspire pupils to enjoy music and to have the confidence to enjoy performing, regardless of their skill level or ability.
The successful candidate will join a successful MAT where all Academies support each other to the benefit of our pupils and their families. Our Academies also enjoy strong support from an experienced LST central team, based in Newcastle upon Tyne.
