We seek from January 2020 an enthusiastic teacher, who is passionate about PE. A teacher who has the ability to motivate students through creative and dynamic teaching within a large friendly and supportive PE department.
PE plays a crucial role in developing students’ character, grit and perseverance and is therefore a core subject for all students in Key Stages 3 and 4. GCSE PE has always had strong take-up and profile in the school. Results in all sport qualifications have been consistently high and above national averages.
The school offers an extensive programme, to which all members of the PE team contribute. The school’s sport programme runs at both lunchtime and afterschool and includes activities such as netball, handball, football, rugby, athletics, rowing, cricket, basketball, table tennis and many more.
We are looking to recruit the best teacher possible to this role whether they are an NQT or an experienced teacher looking for the opportunity to work in an outstanding department.
Oxclose Community Academy is a successful and heavily over-subscribed mixed, 11-16 school constantly in the top schools in Sunderland & Washington.
We have an excellent reputation in the community for the standards of behaviour and achievements of our pupils.
The post offers you an opportunity to join a school determined to continue to improve on our success by committing to the ongoing development of all our staff.
If you would like to visit our wonderful school please contact Laura Fittes on Fittes.l@oxclose.net and we will arrange a tour and a meeting with the Head of PE.
