Things are happening and changing at pace here in Children’s Services in Stockton on Tees. There’s lots going on and we have come a long way. We’re seeking ambitious, hardworking and innovative people to join our team.

We have reconfigured our assessment teams; each led by a Team Manager and Deputy Team Manager managing up to seven social workers.

As Team Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the work allocated to your team, ensuring that this is completed to the highest standards and that the child remains central.

Alongside the assessment process, children and families will also have speedy access to other services, including our Youth and Families offer to support social work assessment and delivery.

It is essential that you are a qualified social worker who is registered with SWE, with substantial post-qualifying experience. Previous social work management experience is desirable.

This is an exciting time to join us as we continue to hold children at the centre of everything that we do and reinforce our commitment to embedding relationship -based practice.

We recognise that we will promote the best outcomes for children by focusing on relationships with and within families, and also with each other as a staff team and with our multi-agency partners.

We’re revising our workforce strategy to support this and investing in additional resources to create manageable workloads, with an emphasis on working together in a supportive team environment.

We are expanding our social work teams, introducing new team structures and expanding our help and support (early help) offer, making up an extensive offer to families across Children’s Services.
