Please note all applicants must have successfully completed Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE).

Together for Children have 5 locality areas which have at least two social work teams within.

North locality has two teams, West locality has three teams, Coalfields locality has two team, Washington locality has two teams, East locality has two teams and we have Children with Disabilities Team who cover the whole of the City.
We work with unborn babies and children/young people until they are 18 years old.

Our work consists of supporting children/young people and their families who are identified as Child in Need under s17 of the Children Act 1989 and Child Protection under s47 of the Children Act 1989 and Looked After Children under s20, s31, s38 Children Act 1989. Within each framework of intervention we have clear procedures regarding visiting children and convening appropriate meetings.
This includes completing assessments to enable child focused/SMART plans to be implemented, completing direct work with children/young people, completing reports for Child Protection Conferences/Reviews, Looked After Reviews and court directed assessments.

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Team Manager who has the passion and drive to ensure that children and young people in Sunderland achieve the best outcomes and receive high quality services.

Over the last 12 months there has been sustained and significant improvement in the quality of services delivered to children young people and their families. Improvement is being rigorously monitored through a multi-agency board and we consult with staff regarding the developments and change that effect front line practice.
