Required until 31 July 2025.
The North Pennines AONB Partnership, working with the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority, is looking for an experienced person to deliver the access strands of the ground-breaking conservation and engagement programme, Tees-Swale – naturally connected.
After three years in development, this National Lottery Heritage Fund supported programme is now ready to start making things happen on the ground.
Tees-Swale is led by the North Pennines AONB Partnership, with the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority, and covers nearly 850km2 of outstanding Protected Landscape. The team is supported by a programme Board, chaired by Sir John Lawton. We aim to demonstrate how — by working in tandem with our High Nature Value farmers in particular — we can conserve, restore, expand and connect priority habitats on an unprecedented scale; at the same time, this work will deliver multiple other public benefits including climate change mitigation, flood-risk management and increasing people’s well-being.
If you want to help people to discover, explore, enjoy and understand these outstanding landscapes, and if you have the qualifications, direct experience and knowledge to back this up, we’d like to hear from you.
The post is based in Stanhope, in County Durham and employed by Durham County Council on behalf of the North Pennines AONB Partnership. The focus of this role is the North Pennines AONB.
Applicants should hold a degree or equivalent in a conservation, environmental or heritage management related subject and have considerable experience of countryside access issues and engagement with farmers and contractors.
Interviews are scheduled to be held via electronic means week commencing 27 September 2021.
