3 Year Fixed Term Appointment, dependent on the successful submission of a second-round application to the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF), at the end of Year 1.
Hartlepool Borough Council is recruiting a Project Officer to lead on the Townscape Heritage Scheme in Church Street.
The HLF has awarded the Council development funding for a Townscape Heritage project in the Church Street Conservation Area. £1.2million has been earmarked to deliver the scheme, subject to an approved second-round submission and therefore the Council is seeking to appoint a Townscape Heritage Project Officer to develop its original bid in more detail.
You will be qualified to a degree level in historic building conservation or a related discipline. A good working knowledge of HLF funded schemes and management of conservation areas and historic buildings is required for this role, as well as experience in heritage-led regeneration. The project will have a strong focus on community engagement therefore experience in delivering community based schemes or outreach work, including working with a diverse range of audiences and stakeholders, would be an advantage.
The Townscape Heritage Project will complement an ambitious regeneration programme in the centre of the town. A key element of this is the Innovation and Skills Quarter (ISQ) which will see Cleveland College of Art and Design invest £11million in a new campus building along with complementary projects supported by £5.5million Local Growth Funding from Tees Valley Local Enterprise Partnership.
