The Role

Will include a wide variety of Accountancy tasks, across various departments assigned at a level suited to the experience gained. Including budget monitoring, budget setting, year-end accounts, financial support, financial planning, business case development and audit and assurance tasks.

This post comes with the opportunity to complete a full Accountancy Qualification within set timeframes with support in the form of funding and support for study. It is based on a sliding salary point increasing with experience and qualifications over the term of the post.

The Candidate

The Council is looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated candidate who is keen to pursue a successful career in Local Government Finance and who is committed to being a part of Middlesbrough Council delivering on its extremely ambitious plans for the town. As a minimum the above position requires a good standard of education, good communication and presentation skills, high standard of computer literacy and ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and a high level of commitment to personal professional development.

Previous local government experience or finance training is desirable.
